Mary Margaret "Margo" (Looney) Rarrick, formerly of Clarks Summit, PA, went home to Jesus on May 26, 2026, at the age of 87. She was the widow of Gerald F. Rarrick, who died in 2003.
Margo was born to Edward and Sophia Palizay Looney on May 22, 1939, in Elmira, New York. As a child, she enjoyed reading, movies, swimming, and picnics. She was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School Class of 1957 in Elmira, New York. She was the valedictorian of her 8th grade class.
Margo and her husband, Jerry, went on to have 5 children: Gerald E. of Stroudsburg, PA, Mark of Gettysburg, PA (and wife Katherine), David of Lafayette Hill, PA (and wife Kim), Amy of Danville, PA, and Sean of Bellefonte, PA (and wife Christina); One of her greatest blessings and joys in life was her nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Benjamin, Kate, Logan, Conor, Chase, Lauren, Anderson, and August. She is also survived by a brother-in-law Doug Austin, Campbell, NY; several nephews, a niece, and great nieces.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Marie; brother John R. Looney; sister-in-law Dolores (Looney) Ciccotti; sister-in-law Mora (Rarrick) Austin; and a grandson, Jonathan.
Margo delighted in watching the various school and sporting activities of her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan. Margo enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom, volunteering with the Welcome Wagon, and participating in several book clubs at the Abington Library. She served in various church ministries throughout her life.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law, Margo also loved spending time with family and friends along with traveling and reading. Throughout Margo's entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, PA. Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m with a Christian Service from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Abington Library.
