Mary Rose Osterhout, of Clarks Summit, passed away peacefully Friday morning at Allied Hospice in Scranton, following a brief illness.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose DeRiggi Harhood Rosipko. Before her retirement, Mary worked as a CNA for Dr. Turock, where she also served as office manager. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, AARP Senior Club, and Petal Share. For more than 50 years, she was an actively involved and dedicated member of The Abington Heights Civic League.
Mary loved Bingo, her weekly Scrabble games, a good meal, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, who meant the world to her, along with her two beloved cats, Chip and Dale.
She is survived by two sons, David Osterhout and his wife Erin, and Chris Osterhout and his wife Kim, all of Clarks Summit; six grandchildren, Katelyn, Kyle, Mariah, Tayler, Kylie, and Addison; her brother, Charles Harhood and his wife Martha, of Newton Twp.; two sisters, Nancy Connors and her husband Edward, of South Abington Twp., and Karen Trovato and her husband Carmen, of Virginia Beach, VA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9am on Saturday at Our Lady of the Snows Church. All those attending can go directly to the church. Friends may call Friday 4 to 6pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, Clarks Summit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abington Heights Civic League Dance Academy, 115 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
