Mildred (Millie) Getz-Coolbaugh, 89, of Tunkhannock passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Regional Hospital of Scranton, surrounded by her children.
Born on January 8, 1936, in Washington Township, Wyoming County, PA, she is the daughter of the late Raymond and Marguarite (Dymond) Robinson.
Mildred was a 1954 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. Her career spanned over three decades at the Tunkhannock School District, where she initially started working in the cafeteria. Her journey continued as she became a devoted teacher's aide, specializing in assisting children with special needs. Her patience and kindness had a profound impact on many young lives.
She was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Tunkhannock, where her commitment to faith and community demonstrated her exceptional character. She found fulfillment in helping others, not just through her work but also through volunteering at food banks and assisting those in need.
Mildred is survived by daughters, Sandy Scala (Jay), Brenda Sands (Todd Fry); son, Frederick Getz, Jr. (Sarah); brothers, Raymond, Charles, and Ronald Robinson; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by sisters, Janie Robinson, Elizabeth Shea, and Pauline Lawson.
As per Millie's wish, there will be no funeral services. Donations can be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5536 US-6, Tunkhannock, PA 18616.
