Nancy "Elaine" Byrne, 87, of Clarks Summit, was peacefully called home to the Lord on Saturday morning while at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. She is now reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Ambrose Byrne, whom she cherished deeply.
Born in Morris County, NJ to the late Woodrow and Edna (Norton) Byram, and raised by Aunt Glady and Uncle Roy Brown, Elaine lived a life marked by quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to those she loved. She dedicated many years of service as a Human Resources Representative at Scranton Specialty Records and later worked with Caregivers of America and Gertrude Hawk. After retirement, Elaine devoted her time to animal rescues and her flower garden. In every role she held, Elaine was known for her compassion, integrity, and genuine care for others.
Elaine's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Nadine Marie Grothmann of Clarks Summit, and a proud grandmother to Gregg Grothmann and his wife Brittany of New York, and Audrey Grothmann of New Jersey. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces, especially Susie, as well as many dear neighbors and friends whose lives were touched by her gentle spirit and warm heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved twin brothers, Robert and John Byram, whom she held close in her heart throughout her life.
Elaine's faith was a quiet but steady source of strength. She trusted in God's grace and now rests in His eternal peace, comforted by the promise of everlasting life.
A Blessing Service will be held Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that cash donations be made in Elaine's memory to help support her beloved grandchildren, honoring the deep love she had for them.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
