Nancy (Nan) Morgan, RN, 95, of Tunkhannock passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Atty. John R. Morgan in 2005.
Born on March 23, 1928 in Roanoke, VA, she is the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Guthrie) Zehmer.
A graduate of Roanoke High School, she later obtained a nursing degree from the University of Virginia.
Throughout her career, Nan made significant contributions in the field of nursing. She worked diligently at the University of Virginia Hospital, Tyler Memorial Hospital, and the Tunkhannock Manor, touching the lives of many patients with her caring nature and expertise.
Nan was widely admired for her generous spirit and love for her loved ones. She found great joy in giving back to others and cherished every moment spent with family and friends.
In her leisure time, Nan found comfort in the company of her beloved cat, Toby. She was actively involved in various community organizations, including Eastern Star, the Wyoming County Chorale, and the Methodist Choir for an impressive 62 years.
Among Nan's proudest accomplishments were serving as the chairman of the Wyoming County Bloodmobile for 12 years, holding the position of president of the Tunkhannock Women's Club, and being an esteemed member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughter, Jane Sawicki and husband Frank; grandchildren, Rebecca Veety and husband Sean, Robert Sawicki, Ashley Morgan Jackson and husband Neil; great grandchildren, Brooke, Riley, Robert John, Kendra, Madi, Reed.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by son, John Morgan II; daughter-in-law, Sharon Morgan.
Family and friends are invited to attend Nan's funeral services which will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11:00AM from the Sheldon Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Reverend Tenny Hutchinson presiding. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A viewing will be held from 10:00AM until the time of service on Monday.
