Neil J. "Lefty" Conway, Scranton, died Sunday morning at Riverview Nursing Facility, Plains. He was the widower of Joan Ventura Conway, who died in 2003.
Born in Throop, he was the son of the late James and Leona Smith Conway. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for both himself and Roadway. Neil was an adventurous man who always had something funny to say. As a Private Pilot, he loved to fly and was the President of Fly-In Fishermen, Inc. He was also co-owner of Leggets Creek Sporting Goods alongside his good friend and former son-in-law, Ronald Snyder "Sonny-boy".
Surviving are two daughters, Debbie Conway and her husband Jeff Kohut of Scranton, and Colleen Weissman and her husband Christopher of Clarks Summit; two grandchildren, Matthew Weissman of Falls and Jordan Weissman of Clarks Summit; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Geraldine (Jeannie) Biggs, Barbara Walko, and Alice Stead.
A blessing service will be held on Thursday at 12 noon at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 South State Street, Clarks Summit. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Blakely. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
