Nelson "Ned" Nichols Connell

Nelson "Ned" Nichols Connell, of Waverly died June 24th at his home.  He was the widower of Sherry Connell who died in October of 2022. The couple was married 49 years.

Born in Norwalk, CT, he was the son of the late E. William and Mary Nichols Connell.  Ned worked for various architecture firms and, in 1985, he started his own firm in Clarks Summit.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit and the Abington Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Ned also served on the boards of various historical groups in Scranton and Waverly.

He is survived by his step daughter Cynthia Edge Seydel and her husband Lee, Solon, Iowa; a stepson Wendell Porter Weeks and his wife, Kim, Corning, New York; grandchildren Olivia Weeks Dingus, Wendell Porter Weeks II, John David Edge, and James Chatham Edge.

A funeral will be held July 15th at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Bill Carter. Interment was in Hickory Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit.
