Patricia Gemmell

Patricia R. Gemmell, 65, of Tunkhannock passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She is survived by her husband of 6 years, Thomas Eckenroth.

Born on June 11, 1960, in Meshoppen, she is the daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Babcock) Rosengrant.

She was a 1978 graduate of Tunkhannock High School.

Shortly after graduation in 1978, she moved to Reading, where she dedicated 37 years to working for R.M. Palmer. After her retirement, Patty made the heartfelt decision to return to her hometown of Tunkhannock, where she found true joy in being home once again.

Patty's love for gardening was evident to all who knew her, particularly her fondness for tending to her flowers, which brought her great happiness. She also enjoyed attending car shows. Her love for animals was evident in her deep bond with her dog, Petunia.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Steve Gemmell; stepdaughters, Chandra Eckenroth and Bobbie Jo Olhinger; stepson, Charles Eckenroth, Sr.; sisters, Sharon Walburn, and Darlene Crump; brothers, Elwood and William Rosengrant; 10 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by sisters, Barb and Joan.

Family and friends are invited to attend Patty's visitation which will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
