Paul B. “Chooch” Shaffer Jr. died on January 20, 2019 at Tyler Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, JoAnne Robbins Shaffer.
Paul was born on August 29, 1940 in Williamsport, PA he was the son if the late Paul B. Shaffer Sr. and Marion E Barger Shaffer.
He worked for ADT in Philadelphia after serving the Marines from 1958-1961. Paul also worked for the Commonwealth Telephone Company for 36 years. He was a member of Triton Hose Company for 53 years, serving as Assistant Chief for 10 years and serving as Chief for 15 years.
One of his many joys in life was Triton Hose Company, he also enjoyed playing Santa Claus, reading to and teaching fire safety to children. We will always remember him for his unconditional love for his family.
In addition to his wife Paul is survived by a son, Paul B. Shaffer III and wife Sandy; three daughters, Elizabeth Brown and husband Tyrone, Sherry Wintermute and husband Wayne, and Katherine Shaffer; brother, James Shaffer and wife Barb; two sisters, Marlene Harman, and Nancy Rupert and husband Jim; eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend Paul’s funeral services which will be held on Monday January 28, 2019 at 11am from the Triton Hose Company, 116 W. Tioga Street Tunkhannock, PA 18657, with Pastor John Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. A viewing for friends and family will be held on Sunday January 27, 2019 from 4p.m.-8p.m. at Sheldon Kukuchka Funeral Home 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
