Bob Crimmel of Tunkhannock passed away at Scranton Community Medical Center on Sunday, October 18 surrounded by his family and friends. He was 63.
Bob was a 1970 graduate of Abington Heights and a 1975 graduate of Slippery Rock University. He taught physical education and health at Tunkhannock Area Middle School for 34 years. During that time, he coached swimming, football and baseball. He especially loved coaching and encouraging his two children, Sara and Todd, and was the most kind, patient and supportive father.
In August, Bob celebrated his 43rd wedding anniversary with his wife Jodi. Bob and Jodi began dating when they were 15 years old, and spent many happy years building and enjoying their life together. He was a devoted husband, who loved making Jodi smile and laugh.
Bob loved his community, his friends and his students. He loved watching people succeed through dedication and hard work. He loved golfing with his fellow retired teachers, kayaking, riding his bicycle, and the Philadelphia Phillies. He struggled to walk by every dog without first stopping to pet it, and especially loved walking and playing with his dog Jackson. He will be most lovingly remembered by his friends and family for his smile, his infectious laughter, and his unfailing appreciation for dumb jokes.
Bob is survived by his brothers Bill and Bea Crimmel, of Colorado Springs, Co, and Scott and wife Colleen Reiner, of Clark Summit.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at 5:00 PM at the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church.
