Robert J. Gower

Robert J. Gower, 86, of Park Gardens in Scranton died on Friday at Highland Manor in Exeter. He was the widower of Loretta M Gower. The couple was married for 53 years.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Sheridan Gower. He was employed by Atlas Industries for many years, then CAT until the time of his retirement.

Surviving are his son, James Gower of Scranton; his daughter, Annette Smith and her husband Michael of Duryea; and the joy of his life, his one and only granddaughter Jenna Smith of Duryea.

He was preceded in death by seven of his siblings and their spouses.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 31 at 10 AM at Saint Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Dr., Laflin PA 18702. Friends may pay their respects at the church from 9 AM until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
