Robert D. Staples, Jr.

Robert D. Staples, Jr., 79, of Clarks Summit, died on Wednesday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after a brief illness. His wife of 57 years is the former Jeanne Kolasinski.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Robert D. Staples, Sr. and the late Esther Doud Staples. He was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and attended Keystone University. He was the owner of Robert Staples Construction.

Bob enjoyed fishing and annual trips to Canada, as well as road trips with his wife.

Surviving are sons Brian and his wife Jennifer or Barnes Corners, NY and Tim and his wife Val of Old Forge; grandchildren Sarah Awad and husband Husam, and Timothy and Robert Staples; brother Tommy Staples and his wife Patty; sisters Rebecca Bills and Pam White and her husband John; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date.
