Ronald W. Markovitz Sr.

Ronald W. Markovitz Sr., 81, of Tunkhannock passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie (Hiscar) Markovitz.

Born on March 12, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late William and Sally (Kwashnik) Markovitz.

He was a 1963 graduate of Edwardsville High School. That same year marked the beginning of his honorable military service with the United States Army Security Agency during the Vietnam Era, where he served from 1963 to 1967.

Following his military service, Ronald worked at Procter and Gamble, where he worked diligently until his retirement.

He was a FAA Ground Instructor and cherished his time as a recreational pilot. His enthusiasm for flight was complemented by his model airplane hobbies, a pursuit that connected his love for aviation with creativity and technical skill. In his younger years, Ronald also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Ronald Markovitz Jr. and wife Donna, Michael Markovitz and wife Amy; daughters, Anne Marie Griffin, Christine Traver; 8 grandchildren, Natalie, Kaitlyn, Michael, Samantha Markovitz, Kimberly Wehler (Allen), Ashley and Kayla Griffin, Kyle Repsher; great grandchildren, Jayson and Jaxon Wehler, Riley and Keaton Markovitz.

He was preceded in death by sister, Sally Kelly and husband James; brother, William Markovitz and wife Rebecca.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
