Rose Marie Barr, 68, of Factoryville passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roy Barr.
Born on February 1, 1957 in Trenton, NJ, she is the daughter of the late Leroy and Marie (Smith) Evans.
She was a 1976 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. Rose began her career at the Newton Ransom Nursing Home. She was later employed at the Lady Manhattan Sewing Factory in Scranton from 1976 until 1982. Rose continued to work various jobs dedicated to caring for the elderly until her retirement.
Rose demonstrated a rare kindness and generosity that left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She possessed a remarkable ability to help anyone in need, making her a cherished friend to many. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and creating memories that will be held dear by those who loved her.
She was a gifted sewer which brought her much joy. She had the remarkable ability to create anything from curtains to dresses, reflecting her creative spirit and attention to detail.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Rose Mary Webber (Paul), Robin Simko (Robert), Rita Latniak (Charles); son, Roy Barr, Jr. (Tia); brothers, Charles Evans (Nina), Jerry Evans (Ericka); sisters, Caroline Keeler (Dale), Kathleen Fletcher, Laurie Zavrotney (David), Sally Lukasewicz (Timothy), Mary Jamieson (Ron); sisters-in-law, Debra Evans, Cathy Evans; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Buddy.
She is preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and William Evans.
Family and friends are invited to attend Rose's funeral services which will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM from Mill City Assembly of God, 167 Mercy Lane, Dalton, PA 18414 with Rev. James Rugg presiding. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.
