Rose Marie DeLeo Houle, 96, of Clarks Summit, died on Tuesday at Oakwood Terrace, Moosic.
Born in Mill City, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Grace Cianfanio DeLeo. Prior to retirement, she was the owner and operator of the Shalimar Hotel. She was a graduate of the Falls-Overfield High School and earlier attended Church of Saint Gregory.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Wocniski and her husband John T. of Clarks Summit; a son, Sam Schiavi and his wife Rosemary of Newton Township; three grandchildren: Jason, Dawn, and Samuel; six great grandchildren: Samantha, Tyler, Emilie, Kylie, Alayna, and Amber; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Rocco, Anthony, and Nicholas DeLeo; and a sister, Antoinette Stevens.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and administration of both Oakwood Terrace and Telespond for the compassionate care that was shown to Rose.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at Church of St. Gregory, 330 North Abington Road, Clarks Summit, Pa., by the Rev. John Lapera, pastor. Entombment will follow at Glenwood Mausoleum.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 Williams Street, Dunmore, PA 18510.
