Salvatore "Sal" F. Falzone, Scranton, died Saturday morning at Allied Services Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.  His beloved wife is Sharon (Duggan) Falzone, the couple married in 1977.

Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Salvatore "Red" and Marjorie (Roderick) Falzone. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, class of 1965. He was also a veteran serving his country with the United States Navy as a Signalman on the USS Vogelgesang, and served a tour in Vietnam. Prior to his retirement he was the owner operator of Best Beverage on Keyser Avenue in Scranton. After retirement, he worked as a courier for Jay's Automotive and Nunzi's Automotive.

Throughout his life, Sal had many passions, hobbies, and interests. He was an avid fan of both the Philadelphia Phillies, and most notably, the Philadelphia Eagles. Sal was also passionate about food, from the many local restaurants he became a beloved regular; to the Italian spots in Philadelphia, he would go to on special occasions; and to his wife's and granddaughter, Amber's, amazing desserts. He also loved nature, animals, and the company of his friends and family. Many of the things he loved in life were shared with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Sal was survived by: a son Jason Veety, Scranton; a brother Alan Falzone, Philadelphia; grandchildren Alexander Veety, Amber (Veety) Mettin, Dylan Wrobleski, Kelsie Hope and Devyn Hope; great grandchildren, Jaxson Mettin, Tanner Wrobleski, and Jaxson Hope; nieces, Cathy Robertson, Christine Brennan, Tracy Rinaldi, Cindy Galenas, and Sherry Dolan.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Falzone; a sister Judy (Falzone) Hadley;  a brother-in-law George Hadley; and a niece Laura Falzone.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 6 pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S, State St., Clarks Summit, PA, friends may pay their respects from 3 pm until time of the service.

The family of Salvatore Falzone would like to thank the nurses, aids, nursing administration, and medical staff of Allied Rehab and Hospice for their assistance, hard work, and support throughout his final days.
