Sandra K. Haas, 79 of Monroe Township, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jerry L. Haas in 2016.
Born on November 20, 1946, in Wilkes-Barre, she is the daughter of the late John and Stella Kowalczyk.
She was a 1964 graduate of Marymount High School. In 1969, she began working as an X-ray technician at Tyler Memorial Hospital. Her dedication to patient care continued as she later worked at Back Mountain Chiropractic for ten years.
She loved her dogs and enjoyed spending time at the beach. Boating on the Finger Lakes was another passion of hers, providing peaceful moments surrounded by nature. She also looked forward to going out to eat with her friends.
Sandra was also a devoted member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Muchichko and husband Chuck, Barbara Fisher and husband Dave; niece, Terri Gerrity; nephew, Harry Haas and wife Dawn; her beloved dog, Bailey; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend Sandra's Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 to be celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert and Deacon Ray Pieretti. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Chip Farm Aimal Rescue; 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612.
