Listen to Obituary

Scott Fitzgerald Lodwick, 43, of Scranton, passed away at home on May 12, 2025.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Donald and Sarah Fitzgerald Lodwick of Newton Township. Scott was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and earned a BS from The Art Institute of Philadelphia.

Scott was constantly engaged in art and creation through music, photography, film, and eventually as a craft cidermaker. Scott and his mom turned a dream into a business with Barnyard Cidery. His cider craft then blossomed into Electric City Ciderworks, where it continues to bring people together. Pour a sip out for Scott if you're ever there.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers Colin Lodwick and wife Leslie McShane-Lodwick of Philadelphia and Thomas Lodwick and wife Rajun McCoy of Asheville, N.C.; several cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family. The lights of his life were his nieces--their shared laughter together will carry on with all who heard it. Scott will also be survived by his found-family. Scott's life was spent with an incredible community of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Karen Davis Rickaby. Interment will follow at Milwaukee Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, 185 Research Drive, Pittston, PA 18640.
