Listen to Obituary

It is with deep heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of Scott Charles Siegler, 49, of South Abington Township on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. His widow is the former Colleen Coleman. The couple celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary in October.

Scott was a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated police officer. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Larry Siegler and the late Katherine Dixon Siegler.

Scott was a 1994 graduate of Bishop Hannon and went on to earn his Associates degree in Electronic and Fluidic Technology from Johnson College. He later received his Act 120 certification from Lackawanna College, beginning a proud and honorable career in law enforcement. Scott served as a South Abington Township Police Officer for nearly twenty years. Prior to that, he worked with the University of Scranton Police Department as well as the Scranton, Dunmore, and Taylor Police Departments. He approached every role with integrity, humility, and a genuine desire to help others.

Above all else, Scott was a family man. He married his high school sweetheart—the love of his life and his soulmate—after they began dating in 1993. Their bond was the foundation of his world, and together they built a home filled with laughter, loyalty, and unwavering love. Scott was happiest when surrounded by his family, whether relaxing at home, spending time at Bethany Beach, or enjoying a cocktail on the deck at the end of a long day. More than anything, his greatest accomplishments were his children.

A simple man with a big heart, Scott found joy in the things that reflected who he was: John Deere tractors, a good bourbon, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and riding around on his tractor. He took great joy in restoring his grandfather's 1964 John Deere tractor—a project that brought him quiet satisfaction. He was a member of the Church of Saint Gregory, where his faith grounded him throughout his life.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, who was his best friend for more than three decades; his sons, Matthew and his girlfriend, Julianna Beemer, and Benjamin at home; and his daughter, Kaitlyn, at home. He is also survived by his half-sister, Ashley Watts (Corey); aunts Judith Dixon and Mary Lynne Hoffman; cousins Patricia Riggle and his best bud and cousin, Brian Hoffman; second cousins Camryn Hoffman and Joseph and Laura Riggle; mother-in-law Lorraine Coleman; sisters-in-law Lori Coleman (Ed) and Mary White (Kenny); nephews Jack, Kenny and Carson White and Derek Watts nieces Kylie White and Brooke Watts; and his beloved dogs, Dean and Jack.

Scott's sudden passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered always for his devotion to family, his service to his community, and the simple joys that made his life so meaningful.

He was preceded in death by his parents Katherine Dixon Siegler and Larry Siegler along with his maternal grandparents, Doris and Thomas Dixon, paternal grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Siegler, Uncle Victor Hoffman, father-in-law, Jack Coleman; and his dog, Bella.

Scott was our real‑life hero, whose generosity lives on through the selfless gift of organ donation, giving others the chance at a fuller, brighter life.
