Sharon Lydia Manning 81, passed away on August 30, 2022 with her loving husband Stephen Kibbe Manning at her side in their home. Sharon and Stephen spent 63 years together as husband and wife.
Born December 3, 1940 to the late Sherman and Ardella Daniels in Norwich, CT, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Sharon was a very compassionate and loving person, always there to support and provide advice when asked. Over the years she was involved in many things. She was involved with many churches, taught Sunday school, worked with the youth group, sang in the choir for the Jack Van Impe Crusaders, sang in the choir for the Harford Fair, and was part of a quilting group at Open Door Baptist Church. She was involved in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and many sporting events with her children and grandchildren. Sharon was a Certified Nursing Assistant and was promoted to Senior Certified Nursing Assistant, because of her compassion and leadership skills.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Stephen (Kathie) Manning, Marilyn Manning, Cynthia (Mark) Johnson, Sandra Dunckle, Anne La Valley and Simon (Jackie) Manning; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Each of her children and grandchildren had a special relationship that was unique to each child.
Special memories Sharon left with her family:
Stephen: last memory of mom was being with her August 18-23, starting with her smile and hug to greet me after dad and I got fried chicken and mashed potatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, and honeydew for dinner. It reminded me of KFC after some of my little league games. Blessed to see her. Her sing spiritual songs and playing Yahtzee. Just being able to talk with her and dad. Marilyn: sitting in the last row and giggling in church. Cynthia: Mom and I looked forward to our Monday morning phone calls and we shared our favorite song " I called to say I love You". Sandra: Those after dinner Yahtzee games were full of fun and laughter. Anne: gave mom a stuffed Pitbull named Chloe. Mom said that is bossy Chloe. They shared a special bond with Pitbull. Simon: In Mom's last days her heart started racing. Simon had us sit Mom up while he got behind her placed his heart next to her heart and she calmed immediately.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Carrie Jean Manning, son-in-law Kevin Dunckle, and brothers and sisters.
