Sherry Connell

Sherry Connell, 87, of Waverly Township, passed away on Friday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Her husband is Nelson Connell. The couple had been married 49 years.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and May Kelly Hess. Prior to retirement, she was employed for nearly 30 years as a secretary in the Abington Heights School District. Sherry was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit.

Surviving are a son, Wendell Porter Weeks, Sr. and his wife Kim of Corning, New York; a daughter, Cynthia Edge Seydel and her husband Lee of Solon, Iowa; four grandchildren, Olivia Weeks Dingus, Wendell Porter Weeks II, John David Edge, and James Chatham Edge; two sisters, Mary Beth Hepner and Diana Morgan, both of North Carolina; and a brother, James Hess, of Factoryville.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit by the Reverend William Carter. Visitation of family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
