Sherry J. Harding

January 12, 2019

Sherry Jo Harding, of Saylorsburg, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2019.

Sherry was born on August 3, 1956, in Meshoppen, PA. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Harding

Sherry graduated from Dallas High School in 1974 and continued her education at Kutztown University receiving her degree in elementary and art education in December of 1978.  In 1979, she was hired with the Scranton-Pocono Girl Scouts where she worked for 9 years; 4 of which she served as Camp Director at Camp Archbald.  She was hired as an elementary school teacher at Stroudsburg Area School District in 1988.  She retired in 2013 after 25 successful years of educating hundreds of students in kindergarten, art, and 3rd grade.  After retirement, Sherry stayed involved in her community by volunteering at the West End Fair and serving on the Township Planning Board for Chestnut Hill Township of Monroe County.

Sherry’s hobbies included creating beautifully intricate Christmas cards, scrapbooks for family and friends, and making jewelry in the wee hours of the morning which she called jammie gems. She loved spending time with friends and family and doting on her great nieces and nephew.  She took many wonderful trips to the beach relaxing with a book by the pool.  She also acted as arts and crafts director for her nieces and nephews and had a short career as their wedding planner.

Sherry is survived by her parents, Katherine and Albert Dymond Sr.; siblings, Lisa (Paul) Olszewski, Pam (Bob) Cavany, Albert (Sandra) Dymond Jr., David (Donna) Dymond, all of Tunkhannock, and Denise (Phil) Mackowiak, of Rochester, NY; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and a great nephew.

Sherry will be sorely missed by her family, friends that became family, many others whose lives she impacted, and her nieces and nephews, with whom she was a confidante, cheerleader, and more often than not, mischief maker.

The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful kindness and support each and every member provided to Sherry and her family.
