Stephen R. Charney

Stephen R. Charney, 73, Dalton, Pa died unexpectedly at his home on October 19.

Born in Newark, New Jersey he was the son of the late Ralph and Pearl Gutowski Charney.  Stephen graduated from West Genesee High School, Camillus, Ny and attended the First "Computer Programming School" in Syracuse, NY.

He retired as a systems analyst with Metropolitan Life.  A self-described "Old Hippie", Steve enjoyed all types of music, with his favorite being Pink Floyd. Gardening and working in his yard were his favorite relaxation. He was a good man with lifelong friends and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his sister, Patti Ann Davis and her husband, Albert, Dalton; a brother, Robert Charney and his wife, Betsy, Clarks Summit; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday from 2 - 5 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
