Stephen Youshock, Jr., 67, of Lake Ariel died on Friday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Stephen Youshock Sr. and Shirley Havrilak Youshock. He was educated in the Mid-Valley School District and was a veteran of the United States Navy, stationed on the USS Concord in Philadelphia. Stephen loved being on the boat and enjoyed the sunshine.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as an electronics mechanic at Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was a member of the American Legion Post 274 – Gouldsboro and the American Legion Riders, who knew him as "Shockster". In addition, he was an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his daughter and his beloved dog, Buddy.
Stephen is survived by his beautiful daughter, Stephanie Corby, who he dearly loved, and her husband Joshua of Scott Township; a sister, Eileen Evanina; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Zator; and brothers Richard and Joseph Youshock.
A funeral service with military honors will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Nestor Iwasiw, pastor, SS. Cyril and Methodius Church. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will take place at a later date.
