Stephen Larue

Stephen LaRue, 80, of Newton Township, died on Saturday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His wife is the former Joyce Richards. The couple had been married since 1961.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the son of the late William A. LaRue, Sr. and Adeline Vasey LaRue. He was a graduate of Essex County Vocational Technical School, New Jersey. Prior to retirement, he was a self-employed electrical contractor. Steve was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Stephen, Jr. (Sharon), Scranton, and Joseph, Newton Township; grandchildren Amber Meyer (Brian), Springfield, Virginia, Allison LaRue (Dom Veras), Greensboro, North Carolina, and Jeffrey LaRue, Sweetwater, Tennessee; great grandchildren Preston and Greyson Meyer, Springfield, Virginia; brothers Ronald LaRue (Eileen), West Grove, and Dennis LaRue (Beverly), Temple, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William LaRue, Jr. and sister-in-law Lorraine.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 South State Street, Clarks Summit.
