Steven J Sherman

Steven J. Sherman, 76, of Clarks Summit, PA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 3, 2024. Steve was born in Manhattan, NY on October 14, 1947 to the late Paul and Malvina Sherman. He moved to Syracuse when he was a little boy. He went to Nottingham High School and graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Steve was very active in the Jewish community in Clarks Summit and was also a Freemason. He spent most of his free time involved in community activities, fundraising, and participating in services locally at Chabad Discovery Center. His faith was as important to him as his one liner corny jokes. His presence will be missed greatly. He could light up a room with his booming voice and vivacious personality.

He is survived by three daughters, Judy (Ben) Minch, Sharon (Kevin) Kelly and Laura Witt. Eight grandchildren; Sarah (Derrick) Maxwell, Rachael (Connor) Lefever, Rebecca Symer, Lily and Logan Minch, Brianna Martin (Justin Maliszewski), Samantha Martin and Jaxson Paul Witt. Six great grandchildren; Cody, Caiton and Zoey Maxwell, Benjamin and Tanner Esposito and Kathleen Maliszewski. His brother, Martin (Mary) Sherman, nieces Erica Hoffmann and Nina Tova (Dan) Green, nephews Reuven (Mollie) Sherman and Elan (Rena) Sherman and 6 grandnieces and grandnephews, Ruthie and Mila Jo Green, Sydney and Brooke Sherman and Judah and Natan Sherman. He is also survived by his long-time companion, Diann Brown.

Graveside services and burial will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Beth El Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
