Stuart N. Crouse, Clarks Summit, died on Sunday at Sacred Heart Hospice, Dunmore.  He was the widower of Patricia L. Peoples Crouse who died in 2015.

Born in Albany, NY he was the son of the late Stuart H. and Vivian McCammon Crouse.  He was a United States Navy veteran and, prior to his retirement, was employed with the Department of the Army in logistics.  Stuart was a man of Methodist faith and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Altamont, NY.  He loved to be on the go and around family and friends.  He enjoyed his annual trips to Myrtle Beach and his monthly breakfast outings with his retirement friends.  His favorite past times included watching Nascar, doing Sudoku and crossword puzzles and helping Gerard O'Neill in the garage.   He was an avid coin collector, and you could always find him with a coffee in hand.  He adored his pet cat, Petunia and enjoyed spending time with his family and caregivers: Christine Baka, Donna Kreidler, Jennifer Bartrige (granddaughter), Chrissy Lasewicz, and Kateri Kleinbauer.

Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Ann Melilli and husband John, and Vicki Lynn Crouse, both of Georgia; stepdaughters Linda Frenchko, Clarks Summit, and Joanna Morris and husband Scott, Collegeville; stepson Joseph Kaczmarek and wife Jennifer, Collegeville; a sister, Vivian Jones and husband Lee, New York; a brother-in-law, Gerald Peoples, Mill City; grandchildren: Nicole, Gina, Michelle, Danielle, John, Colby, Jennifer, Sheri, Dylan, Lacey, Lucas, Max, Gabby, Noah, and Julianna; great-grandchildren: Bryleigh, Cadence, Jackson, Jameson, Sophia, Korbyn, and Michael Finn.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Leinbach and brother-in-law, Phil Leinbach.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit on Saturday, December 17th at 11:00 a.m. with services by Rev. James Hollister, pastor of the Countryside Community Church. Friends may pay their respects from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
