Susan M. Colombo, 86, of Glenburn, died surrounded by family in her home late Tuesday night. She was the devoted and loving wife of Frank "Butch" Colombo for 65 exciting years .
Born in Clarks Summit, she was the daughter of the late Wendel and Dana Capwell Mennig. A graduate of the Abington Heights Class of 1954, she was a lifelong cheerleading Comet . The blue and white in her never wavered. She was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. Susan was the co -founder and president of Interstate Safety Service , Inc. in Clarks Summit , PA . Along with her beloved husband and sons, they built a business that is able to support three generations of family and counting.
Susan was so full of vim and vigor. She lived such a beautiful life, a life that most could only dream of living. She loved to have fun, always full of life, and energy. Her home was often the spot for parties, and family gatherings all year long. She travele d the world, but had two very special places in her heart for Lavallette, NJ. and Germany. She was a family woman first and foremost. She was the glue that held her family together. Her greatest work, though, was her grandkids. She was born to be a grandmother and nothing brought her more joy than bringing all of her grandkids together and seeing them grow up as close as siblings. Susan was a beacon of light to all who she touched. Her traditions, and life will live on through her family members. Susan may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.
S urviving are sons, Chris topher Colombo and wife Diane, Jeff rey Colombo and wife Ruth; nine grandchildren : Jessica, Christopher Jr. , Erik, Alexandra, Cassandra, James, Nicholas, Jules, and Jordan; five great - grandchildren, Vanessa, Everly, Beau, Ty, and Maverick all of Clarks Summit, PA ; a brother, Jack Mennig and his wife Cathy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Susan request ed that there be no funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
