Thomas H. Matthews

Thomas H. Matthews, Clarks Summit, died Thursday morning at Allied Hospice, Scranton. His wife is the former Barbara M. Boland.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Catherine Delores Reimer Matthews. Prior to retirement, he worked for Geico Insurance. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

Surviving are a son, Scott of New York; three daughters: Danielle Minor of Clarks Summit, Rebecca Matthews of Connecticut, Margaret Scott of Scranton; three grandchildren: Alyssa and Ashleigh Minor, and Keiyana Hoaglan; and two brothers, Benjamin Matthews of West Virginia, and Kevin Matthews of Honeybrook.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects on Monday from 1 pm until the time of the service.
