Virginia "Ginny" L. Walp

Virginia "Ginny" L. Walp, 68, of Clarks Summit, died at Hospice of the Sacred Heart on Tuesday.

Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Harlen A. and Mary Grace Altieri Walp. She was a graduate of Hazleton High School and, prior to retirement, was an operator for Towers answering service at St. Joseph Hospital. She was also employed by Sunrise Cafe, Clarks Summit.

Surviving are a brother, Albert L. Walp of Queens, NY; sisters Deborah Burger of Newton Township and Barbara Gumbeda of Hazelton; nieces Tina Busch of Oneida, PA, Shannon Busch of Ray, GA, and Lauren Gumbeda of Hazelton; and great niece Ryen Busch of Ray, GA.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Walp.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
