Virginia Penrith, 81, of Keiserville, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at her residence in Keiserville. Born on August 16, 1934 in Greenslanding, PA she was the daughter of the late Dana and Amelia Gable Depew.
She was a faithful member of the Biblical Baptist Church, Meshoppen, for over 38 years, and served in many capacities, including Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer and Pianist. Her piano playing was a great blessing to all and was a great asset to the church services.
Virginia was also an accomplished seamstress, who enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Over the years she made various articles of clothing, as well as blankets, quilts, and afghans. She was also a great cook and baker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Penrith, Sr., an infant daughter; a sister, Doris Bunnell; a brother, James Depew; and a niece, Brenda Bunnell.
She is survived by her five children, Gary Myers and wife Janet of Meshoppen, Vicky Penoyer and husband Sanford, Norristown, Teresa Blow and husband Dan, Waverly, NY, Mark Myers and wife Linda of Springville, and Robert Penrith Jr. and Ami of Keiserville with whom she resided; a brother William Depew Osage Beach MO, 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her extended family includes stepdaughters, their children, and their grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday September 18th at 11 am from the Biblical Baptist Church, Briar Ridge Road, Meshoppen, PA with Pastor Gary Myers officiating. A private interment for family will be on Saturday, September 12th in Rural Rest Cemetery, Keiserville, PA. Arrangements by Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Virginias name to the Endless Mountains Christian Academy, 135 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
