Walter R. (Dick) Reese, 83, of Tunkhannock passed away peacefully on Thursday June 2, 2022 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born in Luzerne on February 15, 1939 he was the son of the late Walter D. and Hazel Traver Reese. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Joyce Lorah Reese; son, Walter R. Reese Jr. and wife Elizabeth; daughter, Lorah Reese; grandchildren, Lillianne, Wyatt, and Silas Reese Walter was a member of: Triton Hose company, Tunkhannock Ambulance Association, Black Walnut American Legion, Wyoming County 4-H, and a charter member of the Tunkhannock Moose Lodge. He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Tunkhannock Lodge 247, now the Waverly Lodge 310. He owned Reese Florist and worked at Procter & Gamble for 27 years. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors in North Eaton where he would hunt, go horseback riding, and tinker with his antique tractors and Jeeps during garage nights. Walter’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Butch and Josie Sands, Jen and Jeremy Daubert, Lilly and Emma Daubert, Kathy Sands, Marsha Chrispel, and Jim Altemus for all the care and support they have extended to the family over the years. Family and friends are invited to attend Walter’s graveside service which will be held on Monday June 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sunnyside Cemetery, 152 Sunnyside Rd, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with full military honors. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at 12:00 PM from the Moose Lodge, 813 Hunter Hwy, Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Arrangements and care are entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga Street Tunkhannock, PA 18657. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to either Black Walnut American Legion, 328 Old Rte. 6 Rd, Laceyville, PA 18623 or Triton Fire Company, 116 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
