Wayne Franko

Wayne A. Franko, 67, of Nicholson passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton.

Born on September 16, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA, he is the son of Jean (Myers) Franko and the late Dr. George Franko.

He was a graduate of Wissahickon High School and furthered his education by earning a biology degree from West Chester University.

Wayne was a teacher at Dover Intermediate School for many years until his retirement. Upon his retirement he moved to Nicholson.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the fields and woods around his home. He had a great appreciation for music especially Bob Dylan. His cooking skills were much appreciated and it gave him great pleasure to share his talents. He greatly valued his friendships with AA members and treasured their loyal support.

He is survived by sons, Lowell Franko and wife Heidi, Grant Franko; brothers, Jeffrey Franko and wife Desiree, George Fredric Franko and wife Claudia; grandchildren, Noah and Henry Franko; several nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend Wayne's funeral services which will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11:00AM from the Sheldon Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola.

A viewing will be held from 9:00AM until the time of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Wayne's memory be made to Allied Services Hospice Center, 511 Morgan Highway, Scranton, PA 18506.
