Wendy Eve Babushko

Wendy Eve Babushko of South Abington Township, died Monday at her and husband Carl's home after a 3+ year battle with cancer.

Wendy was a 1983 graduate of Abington Heights and had many jobs after school. She worked at Burger King, Weis Markets, Dalton Lumber, and Signature Building Products, among many other work places.

She was the mother of a son, Sam. Along with her husband, she enjoyed working in her garden, spending time with her pets, and vacations in Ocean City, Maryland.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, John "Bud" and Dee Holt and her siblings, Debbie and Kelly.

In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by brother John Holt and wife Rose, and sister Tammy VanFleet and husband Brian of Dalton; six nieces and nephews, Olivia Plantholt, Andrew and Katie Holt, Jess Harvey and husband Dave, Nick and Nathan Van Fleet, and Avery Babushko; and uncle Jim Battersby and his family.

A blessing service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Wendy's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sean McCall, Dr. Chris Peters, Dr. Digwood, and the many caregivers of Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart - Dunmore or Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
