About Us

The Sheldon Funeral Home in Tunkhannock began serving local families after Ralph B. Sheldon and his son Ralph B. Sheldon Jr. purchased the Ray Greenwood Funeral Home in 1959. Thomas G. Kukuchka joined the firm in 1971, graduating from The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1972. In 1988, he and his wife June acquired the establishment, renaming it Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc.

In 2016, Louis J. Marcho joined the funeral home as a licensed funeral director after graduating from Northampton Community College. Louis took ownership of the funeral home in 2022, marking a significant transition as it became known as Marcho, Sheldon & Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care.

Louis's dedication to funeral service is deeply personal, rooted in the profound experience of losing his father unexpectedly at just ten years old. This early loss left an indelible mark, shaping him with empathy, compassion, and a heartfelt understanding of grief. Alongside his wife Hannah, Louis ensures that every family receives the personalized care and compassionate support they deserve.
